Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson 🔖🔖🔖🔖

I really enjoy Jenny Lawson. Not many things I watch or read make me laugh full on out loud, but Jenny does it to me every time. My daughter has many similar "conditions" Jenny has and it was heartwarming and heart wrenching to me to hear her description of living it. So worth understanding those I love and support. Be warned there is much cursing.

Untamed by Glennon Doyle 🔖🔖🔖🔖

I really enjoyed this book. Not only could I relate on so many levels, it was a fun read. I garnered many pieces of wisdom from this one. Highly recommended.

Representation matters.

Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford 🔖🔖

This fell a bit flat. It may not be fair because romance is one of my least liked genres. It was actually okay as far as the romance part went. The characters felt stagnant, the story felt like it was told by a tired narrator, there seemed a few too many inconsistencies, and the kids seemed a bit young for the bond depicted. The ending was a bit too "perfect", though that seems to be how romances generally go. I didn't totally hate the book, but it wasn't a favorite and I'd not recommend it.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline 🔖🔖🔖

This gets three stars because I actually enjoyed the thrill and excitement in watching how underdogs may or may not win. It was also fun to have a ton of 80s references I could relate to.

It doesn't get more stars as there was almost no character development, no arc to speak of, the main character was supremely self-interested, and so much of what happened was pretty far fetched and unbelievable. Too much had to happen at the exact right time for it to be remotely possible.

I'd probably not recommend.
