The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins 🔖🔖🔖🔖

I'm struggling with how many stars to give this one. I finished it and enjoyed it, yet I am not sure it's one I'd completely recommend nor is it one I need to own. On the other hand, it was so well done that I can't justify giving it less than 4 stars. Character development was quite believable and well-done. Admittedly, this character development was equally frustrating because I just wanted certain characters to stop acting so stupid! Yet it is likely exactly what someone in that frame of mind and experience would do. I kept wanting redeemable characters, and when I thought I'd see one, it would shift again. One thing that does bother me is the portrayal of significant male characters, which I can't fully describe without giving plot points away. Great plot, good mystery (though I had it figured out about half way through), suspenseful.

The more I think about it, the more I am leaning toward 4 stars. It's kind of growing on me enough that I might just put it on my shelf after all ...

Murder is Easy by Agatha Christie 🔖🔖

Not one of her best at all. Felt flimsy. It’s also clear she’s better at crime than romance.
