Ellen Foster by Kaye Gibbons 🔖🔖🔖

Cute book. I have nothing profound to say about this book but nothing negative, either. I finished it and enjoyed reading it for the most part. No need to keep it on my shelves and I'm not likely to recommend it to anyone.

Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris ✖️

Once again ... I don't appreciate short stories/essays. None of these drew me in.

The BFG by Roald Dahl 🔖🔖🔖

Fun children book. It's not one of my favorites, like Holes, but it was enjoyable.

Mr. Popper's Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater 🔖🔖🔖

Cute. One I would have probably enjoyed in the 2nd grade.

The Gadwell Incident - Prequel to Lock & Key by Ridley Pearson 🔖🔖🔖

Definite action packed short story. Listened to this one.

This is a prequel to a series which I likely won't be reading, but not because of this book. This was a good stand alone, even though there is a cliff hanger of sorts at the end. It felt complete enough for a fun short story.

The story was from a young, current day James Moriarty's younger sister. She took the reader through an action packed day as they both attempted to solve a mystery about their father. It was action packed, quick, and easy to follow. There were great descriptors that brought clear images to mind. The characters were believable and relate-able.

Overall I liked the story and enjoyed the pace. I wasn't so caught up in it that I'd necessarily recommend it to others and I don't need to own it.

Cat and Jemima J by Jane Green 🔖

Very short so not a lot of substance.

The Hiding Place: The Triumphant True Story of Corrie Ten Boom 🔖🔖🔖🔖

 Well worth anyone's time.

To Die For by Alice Clark-Platts 🔖🔖

Listened to this one. Was nice and short.

Maybe due to the brevity, it was hard to relate to any of the characters. It also felt like the intricacies that *were* presented were trite and cliche. The ending was predictable, though it left a lot undone and unclear.

Not one I'd recommend or keep.
